Walt Disney Studios Park
The Walt Disney Studios Park sits next to Disneyland and Disney Village. It has four main zones, concentrating on the history of animation, films and special effects.
Upon arrival, visitors walk straight into the Art Deco-styled Front Lot. It’s like stepping into the old-fashioned glamour of Hollywood, with palm trees and a giant water fountain based on the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. A 108-foot high water tower with Mickey Mouse ears towers above the Front Lot. Like Main Street USA in Disneyland, Front Lot has a great choice of restaurants and boutiques.
Toon Studio is filled with some of Disney’s most popular characters and a host of rides and attractions. Art of Disney Animation teaches you a little about drawing, Disney-style, while Animagique is a 3D animated show that will take you beyond the screen and into your imagination. Hang on to your magic carpet on Flying Carpets over Agrabah, or join the cast of Cars in Race Rally. Toy Story Playland has several rides from the Toy Story gang, including a Parachute Drop and the RC Race Rollercoaster. Toon Studio also houses Crush’s Coaster, which has quickly become one of the most popular rides at Disneyland Paris. This spinning rollercoaster follows Nemo and friends into the East Australian Current.
Production Courtyard takes a nostalgic look at movies through the 20th century and into the future. CineMagique is a tribute to European and American cinema and takes you on an exhilarating and emotional journey through 100 years of film. Take a Studio Tram Tour featuring Catastrophe Canyon and you could find yourself in the middle of an explosive film shoot. Stitch Live! is an innovative experience that allows you to have a real time conversation with the mischievous alien. Finally, are you brave enough to take an elevator ride in the ill-fated Tower Hotel, hoping that you don’t end up trapped in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror?
In the Back Lot you can learn how tricks of the film making trade are developed, perfected and eventually filmed. Survive showers of meteors aboard the spectacular space station from the blockbuster thriller Armageddon on Armageddon Special Effects. Rock ‘n’ roll onto the fastest musical adventure ever made on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, starring rock legends Aerosmith. Feel the heat in the explosive Moteurs…Action! Stunt Show Spectacular staged in a 3,000 seat outdoor arena.
