Main Street USA

A recreation of an early 20 th century American street, with vintage cars, horse drawn trams, painted timber houses, signs, shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours and a station with steam trains. T rains leave at regular intervals for trips around the park. See all of your favourite Disney characters dancing and singing at the daily parades, or peruse the many boutiques if you’re looking for that special gift. There are two covered arcades; the Liberty Arcade, which charts the history of the Statue of Liberty, and the Discovery Arcade, which displays inventions and how they shape our life today. At the end of the street, visitors will arrive at Central Plaza, with gateways to all of the other lands at Disneyland Paris.

Frontierland

This is the largest of the five lands and brings to life the era of conquest and the Gold Rush in the Wild West. Visitors arrive through a wooden fort, which houses one of its attractions, The Legends of the Wild West. Passing through the fort, visitors are greeted by the striking landmark that is Big Thunder Mountain whose main attraction is a high speed chase aboard a runaway mine train through the tunnels of the mountain. More sedate entertainment is available on board paddle steamers, which make their way around The Rivers of the Far West. Thunder Mesa is a frontier town with a saloon complete with dancing girls, a steak restaurant and numerous gift stores. Visitors can try their aim at the shooting gallery or watch their favourite Disney characters come alive at the Chaparral Stage before catching a train from Frontierland station for a tour of the park. Adventureland

Adventureland is arguably the most beautiful part of Disneyland Park, with landscape elements taken from Caribbean islands, African deserts and Asian jungles. Wander through the oriental bazaar with its many gift shops. Perhaps you will meet Aladdin? Why not board a ship and experience life as a buccaneer on board the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, where Audioanimatronics play out a sea battle and the burning of a town? Once you disembark, imagine yourself as Peter Pan at Skull Rock or on board Captain Hook’s Ship. Visitors can also explore the exotic jungle, with undiscovered jungle paths, waterfalls and bamboo lined walkways. Jump aboard one of the mine cars which run around the rickety scaffolding on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, a roller coaster which includes a complete inversion. Gain a bird’s eye view of Adventureland from the Swiss Family Robinson’s tree house. If all this adventure leaves you hungry you will find plenty of restaurants and cafes to revive you, or take home some adventurer’s treasure from one of the many boutiques.

Fantasyland

Entering Fantasyland, visitors are immediately struck by the magnificent and enchanting Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, which is the main landmark of Disneyland Park. Visitors to the castle can admire the tapestries and stained glass windows and enjoy panoramic views of Fantasyland from the balconies. Beyond the castle, the mighty sword Excalibur can be found embedded in stone. Take a ride into the stories of Pinocchio and Snow White or board a floating galleon with Peter Pan. Find your way around Alice in Wonderland’s Curious Labyrinth or enjoy a boat trip through intricate models of some of the most famous fairy tales. Meet the Disney characters, with everyone from Mickey Mouse to Cinderella wandering round the area. Elsewhere in Fantasyland there are many shops selling toys and gifts and lots of fairytale eating places.

Discoveryland

This is the European version of Tomorrowland, dedicated to the visionaries of the past; Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and Leonardo da Vinci take centre stage. Visitors can travel through time and space via the main themes of science fiction, special effects and speed. The Star Wars inspired Star Tours, Autopia (in which visitors ride in a car of the future), Orbitron and The Mystery of the Nautilus (based on Captain Nemo’s mythical submarine) are all recommended, while Honey I Shrunk the Audience and Space Mountain are two of Disney’s most popular attractions. Watch videos relayed on four giant screens in the Videopolis auditorium and Café Hyperion allows a good view of the stage while you eat. Visitors can even travel through time on the Visionarium.

Walt Disney Studios Park

The new Walt Disney Studios concentrate on the history of animation, films and special effects, with four main zones
Front Lot
Upon arrival, visitors walk straight into the Front Lot area, with palm trees and a giant water fountain based on the Sorcerer's Apprentice. A 108 feet high water tower of the type used in Hollywood film studios, features Mickey Mouse’s famous ears and towers above the Front Lot. Beyond this is Disney Studio 1, where visitors step straight into the glaring lights of a Hollywood film set and stroll down Sunset Boulevard.

Animation Courtyard

Three attractions; Art of Disney Animation (where characters come to life before your eyes!), Animagique (a three dimensional animated show that will take you beyond the screen and into your imagination) and Flying Carpets over Agrabah (hang on to your magic carpet!) are devoted to the evolution of animation, the art that made the name of Disney famous worldwide.

Production Courtyard

A statue of Charlie Chaplin welcomes visitors to the Production Courtyard. The Walt Disney Television Studios are housed here; witness a live studio production or even become part of the show. If films are more your thing, why not visit CineMagique? This show is a tribute to European and American cinema and takes you on an exhilarating and emotional journey through 100 years of film. Take a Studio Tram Tour featuring Catastrophe Canyon and you could find yourself in the middle of an explosive film shoot.

Back Lot

Learn how tricks of the film making trade are developed, perfected and eventually filmed. Survive showers of meteors aboard the spectacular space station from the blockbuster thriller Armageddon on Armageddon Special Effects. Rock 'n' roll onto the fastest musical adventure ever made on Rock 'n' Roller Coasterstarring rock legends Aerosmith. Feel the heat in the explosive Stunt Show Spectacular staged in a 3,000 seat outdoor arena.

Disney Village

Disney Village is the largest entertainment complex of its kind in Europe, covering an area of 18,000m 2. R estaurants, shops, an open-air stage, a nightclub, a wild west show, a multiplex cinema; entertainment to take you to the four corners of the world. Leaving the Theme Parks behind, enjoy lunch or start your evening with a meal at one of six themed restaurants. Dine in the Amazonian rainforest, a 1950’s American diner or in the company of Mickey Mouse, the choice is yours. There’s a Wild West saloon bar and even a sports bar where you can watch sport on one of ten giant screens. Perhaps you might like to take in a film? There’s plenty of choice, with 15 Gaumont cinema screens. One of these screens is the largest in France! If music is more your scene, there are free concerts by famous artists throughout the year, or dance until dawn at Hurricanes Discotheque (free entry for residents of Disney hotels). You might like to take a relaxing stroll around Lake Disney, or if you’re feeling more energetic, there’s ice skating, Disney Village games arcade and even a rodeo.

Val D’Europe

Shopping, eating and entertainment on a grand scale is available within 10 minutes drive from Disneyland Resort Paris (exit 13 on the A4 motorway). Rail visitors arrive at the Val D’Europe station on the A4 RER service from Paris. The International Shopping Centre is on two levels and includes a hypermarket and over 130 shops as well as La Vallee Outlet Shopping Village, with designer boutiques selling previous-season and end-of-line stock at discounted prices. Take a break from your shopping excursion and visit Les Terrasses, where you can enjoy a meal in one of nine restaurants. There are also two bars and live music plays until midnight. Val D’Europe also hosts a Sealife Centre, with 30 aquariums displaying a fascinating marine world.

In addition to the theme parks, Disneyland Resort Paris offers leisure facilities for residents of Disney hotels and accommodation. Tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, cycling, swimming, boating, ice skating, jogging…how will you find the time? There are three 9-hole golf courses that will challenge the beginners and the experts alike.
